Saparua is one of the Moluccan Islands in the Pacific Ocean. Every island has small villages so called “kampongs”. Our roots comes from the kampong called Ihamahu that's located on the island of Saparua.
In the 16th century the Moluccan Islands were a colony of Portugal and later on of the Netherlands. The influences of these countries are nowadays still visible.
